I took a father and son fishing on the Chetco. The father I fish two or three times a year. His son came out from Florida and never caught a steelhead. This day he bested his dad, hooking 5 and landing 3.

Participated in the annual Womens steelhead derby as a guide. My girlfriend and her best friend were my clients. We took 1st place and my girlfriend took top rod award for the most steelhead caught by one person during the derby. The fishing was tuff, but we end up catch and relasing 6 steelhead.

Thanx for the feedback, sounds like you'll have a great end of summer/fall fishery. Send pictures or post them if you get a chance. While waiting for salmon fisheries to open, we've been slaying the halibuts this month just outside of Sequim, WA scaling out between 30 lbs - 120 lbs.
Nice pics but I thought California salmon fisheries are completely shutdown this year with Oregon severely restricted and here in Washington slight revisions but still wide open salmon fisheries. What's the scoop in California?
